By using ASCII Magic ("the service", "the tool", "this site") at ascii-magic.com, you agree to these terms. Plain English version: use the tool, keep what you make, don't break the law, don't break the tool.
ASCII Magic is a browser-based image and video stylizer. It runs entirely client-side using HTML5 Canvas, and no images or videos you upload ever leave your device. Core use is available at no cost; an optional paid Pro plan unlocks additional effects, higher-resolution exports, and monthly generative credits (see section 4). Pro requires an account.
You retain all rights to any image, video, or output you create with ASCII Magic. We do not claim ownership over your uploads or the styled output. The renderer runs on your device, we never see, store, or transmit your files.
You are responsible for ensuring you have the rights to use any source material you upload (your own work, public domain, licensed, fair use, etc.).
Don't use ASCII Magic to:
ASCII Magic offers a free tier and a paid Pro plan. Current pricing and billing options (monthly, quarterly, or yearly) are always shown on the Pricing page and at checkout. Pro includes every effect, higher-resolution exports, and monthly generative credits.
Billing and Merchant of Record. Payments are handled by Dodo Payments, which acts as the Merchant of Record for every purchase. Dodo is the seller of record on the transaction and handles checkout, billing, and tax. Your statement may show a Dodo Payments descriptor. ASCII Magic does not see or store your full card details.
Auto-renewal. Paid plans renew automatically at the end of each term at the then-current price, using your payment method on file, unless you cancel before the renewal date.
Cancellation. You can cancel any time from your account settings or by contacting us. When you cancel, Pro access continues until the end of the period you already paid for, then your account returns to the free tier. Cancelling stops future charges but is not itself a refund.
Credits. Generative credits are a usage allowance, not currency. They have no cash value and cannot be exchanged for money. Credits already spent on a generation are used and are not restored on cancellation.
Price changes. We may change plan pricing. If a change affects your plan, we will give notice before it takes effect, for example by email or a notice in the app, and the new price applies from your next renewal. If you do not agree, you can cancel before it takes effect.
Refunds. Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy and are processed by Dodo Payments as Merchant of Record. In short: cancelling keeps access to the end of the paid period, and spent credits are not refundable.
The service is provided "as is" with no warranty of any kind. We do our best to keep it running and rendering correctly, but we don't guarantee uptime, accuracy, fitness for any particular purpose, or that it will work for every browser/device combination.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the creator of ASCII Magic is not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential or punitive damages arising from your use of the service.
We may update these terms occasionally. Material changes will be noted at the top of this page with an updated date.
